Albatross

Our third album has been released. Albatross is available, through our website but also at our concerts.

An albatross can travel thousands of miles using minimal effort, soaring along wind currents, rising and diving without ever flapping its wings. The albatross is a symbol of perfect, effortless symbiosis with nature. Through their music, RP attempts to explore the symbiosis between themselves, resulting in effortless harmony. The name albatross is derived from the latin for white, albus, and from the Arabic for a diver, Alcatraz. Like the albatross’ name, the music of RP is multicultural in its origin, merging numerous traditions to create something entirely new.

We had the unique chance to collaborate with a special friend, the great grammy awarded pianist, composer and arranger Milcho Leviev. A relative music documentary will be soon screened about this collaboration.

Knot

[..] i listened to your 2nd album, and I enjoyed it very much; you’ve got definitively a very original, eclectic style. Some of the rhythmic grooves, especially, HAIKU, and the 7/4 bossa ASTATIKO, are very smooth, which is the hardest thing to achieve using irregular meters. I like very much your approach for soloing; you always invent melodies, rather than showing virtuosity. You really play for each other […]

Upon listening to Reggetiko Project last album, Knot, one immediately has the feeling a story is being told. A story of people and their travels, onto which one cannot help submerging. The atmospheric tunes, and the refreshing and at times melancholic chords will take you through the streets of Greek cities. From the Mediterranean dawn to warm Arabian nights. A flawlessly tuned jam session. A gift for the senses.

Music Conversations

Our first album has been released. Music Conversations is available, through our website but also at our concerts.

Some of the themes we worked for at these first two years of our existence were selected to represent our ideas but mostly our approach and point of view. The illustration made by Olga Doulkeridou specially for our cover and Evagoras Bek’s mastering, helping us both to create something we are really proud of.

Also, as bonus tracks, a friend of us – Jeriko- made a DnB remix of Raktivan, meanwhile Evagoras added a remix of Koufitsa, enriching Reggetiko even more

A gift for the senses…

Rich brew composed by different flavours (Greek,Middle-Eastern,Jamaican and even Brazilian), filtered through jazz and their own experimental drive.
